Having been off our screens since AEW Worlds End on December 30, 2023, there’s a new update on the injured MJF.
MJF dropped the AEW World Championship to Samoa Joe at Worlds End with it being reported that he had a legitimate shoulder injury.
It would also be reported that, aside from the shoulder injury, MJF was also handling a hip injury sustained at Full Gear.
The shoulder injury was described as “the most serious” however, with consideration being given to whether to have surgery or not.
In the current issue of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has provided up an update on MJF’s AEW status, writing:
Regarding MJF, he is out of action as his shoulder injury was significant.
Aside from that, he is literally being as secretive as possible about his situation.
MJF recently completed filming of the comedy movie ‘The Floaters’ which stars Jackie Tohn and Sarah Podemski.
Having been spotted with John Cena at the premiere of Iron Claw, the WWE star has revealed he told MJF that he hoped to see him “play for the right team.”
MJF is not currently featured in promotion for AEW All In London at Wembley Stadium on August 25, 2024.
At the 2023 edition of the show, he main evented with a win over Adam Cole.
