For the first time, WWE will present Sunday Night’s Main Event on Sunday, September 6 from Atlanta, Georgia.
With just three weeks remaining before the show, WWE does not have a ton of time to set matches up for this event.
From title bouts to grudge feuds being settled, Sunday’s Night Main Event could have an exciting lineup on tap next month.
Here are six potential matches to be added to WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event.
The Judgment Day (Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez) vs. Stephanie Vaquer, IYO SKY & Sol Ruca
On the August 3 WWE Raw After SummerSlam 2026, Stephanie Vaquer made her return to the company for the first time since WrestleMania 42.
Attacking The Judgment Day, Vaquer showed that she was looking for revenge.
After having her WWE Women’s World Championship taken at Mania and taken out by the group, it is clear that “La Primera” wants vengeance on Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez.
Vaquer aligning with both IYO SKY and Sol Ruca could prove to be a formidable trio against Judgment Day at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event.
Interim WWE Women’s Championship: Chelsea Green (c) vs. Nia Jax
At WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night Two, Chelsea Green won the Ladder Match to become the new Interim WWE Women’s Champion.
Now, Green has a huge target on her back as the reigning champion on SmackDown.
This led to Nia Jax and Lash Legends of The Irresistible Forces attacking Chelsea on the August 7 SmackDown.
After this assault, Jax should be the first challenger for Green for the Interim gold.
WWE Intercontinental Championship: Chad Gable (c) vs. Rey Mysterio
At WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night Two, Chad Gable defeated Penta to win the Intercontinental Championship.
Following this win, Gable wants to prove himself as a fighting champion moving forward.
This led to the former Olympian challenging WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio for his title.
Wanting to face the best, this could lead to Gable defending the IC Title against Mysterio at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event.
Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley vs. Jade Cargill, Michin & B-Fab
On the August 7 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Charlotte Flair defeated Jade Cargill.
This came as a result of Charlotte getting some help from the returning Alexa Bliss and a debuting Tatum Paxley to fend off Jade’s crew of Michin and B-Fab.
Setting the stage for both sides to be even, Flair, Bliss and Paxley could form a trio to take down The Baddies.
Cargill, Michin and B-Fab facing Charlotte, Alexa and Tatum would make for a grudge six-woman tag at Sunday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta.
Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker
At WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night One, Oba Femi defeated Brock Lesnar inside Hell In A Cell.
Post match, Lesnar put over Femi as the future of the company, giving him a huge endorsement.
“The Ruler” then went on to proclaim himself as the leader of the new generation of talent, which drew the ire of Bron Breakker and led to a pair of intense staredowns on WWE Raw over the past couple of weeks.
Femi and Breakker colliding has all the makings of a strong headliner for WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event.
Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing Match
Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton feuded over the Undisputed WWE Championship earlier this year, leading to the main event of WrestleMania 42 Night One.
After Orton came up short, “The Legend Killer” disappeared from WWE TV.
However, Orton made his return by attacking and costing Rhodes his Undisputed WWE Championship match against CM Punk at SummerSlam 2026 Night One.
Following his return, Orton should square off with Rhodes in a brutal feud ender like a Last Man Standing Match on September 6 at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event.
