WWE
On the April 6 episode of WWE Raw, Finn Balor had a prerecorded promo where he stated that Dominik Mysterio had brought back a side of himself that he did not want to see.
This teased Balor bringing back his ‘Demon’ persona for the first time in three years, which will make its return at WrestleMania 42.
Looking at the WWE roster, there could be even more talent who will reintroduce their alter egos to the company in the weeks and months to come.
Here are six more WWE star alter egos to potentially return.
6. The Original El Grande Americano Goes Back To Chad Gable
At WWE Royal Rumble 2026, The Original El Grande Americano made his return to the company as an entrant in the men’s Royal Rumble match.
Since then, The Original El Grande has been embroiled in a feud with the other El Grande Americano and Los Americanos.
This seems to be building to a Mask vs. Mask Match that will more than likely take place in Lucha Libre AAA.
After removing the mask, The Original El Grande could potentially once again become Chad Gable and look to reestablish himself as his real original self.
5. Los Americanos Become Pete Dunne & Tyler Bate Again
While the other El Grande Americano has fully embraced the role and seems to be thriving in it especially in Lucha Libre AAA, Los Americanos has been a duo that many fans believe would be better off as themselves again.
Over the past few months, Bravo and Rayo Americano have been making their name as a consistently featured duo on WWE TV as well as Lucha Libre AAA.
Despite having fun in these new characters, Brayo and Rayo seem to be leaning more into their former personas and in-ring style as of late.
Los Americanos once again becoming Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate would make a lot of sense to also give El Grande Americano the chance to grow on his own.
4. Rusev Brings Back Rusev Day
In April 2025, Rusev made his return to WWE and has since become a member of the Monday Night Raw roster.
While he was consistently used on WWE television the months after his return, ‘The Bulgarian Brute’ has inconsistently appeared on the company’s programming in recent months.
On the March 30 episode of WWE Raw, it was announced that Rusev will compete in the Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match at WrestleMania 42.
Coming out of this year’s Mania, Rusev could bring back his signature and popular ‘Rusev Day’ character that may give him more time on WWE television moving forward.
3. Penta Embraces Penta Dark
Penta made his WWE debut in January 2025 and has since taken the company by storm.
On the March 2 episode of Monday Night Raw, Penta defeated Dominik Mysterio to win the Intercontinental Championship.
While he has had his fair share of rivals and opponents that has drawn his ire over the past year, the masked luchador has not been pushed to the levels that he has been in the past with other promotions.
When he finally finds that rival that his current persona cannot defeat, Penta could embrace his dark alter ego that will embrace brutality to overcome his opponent in vicious ways.
2. Alexa Bliss Brings Back Spooky Persona & Joins The Wyatt Sicks
Alexa Bliss is someone else who has shown herself to have a dark side in the past.
Before her return at WWE Royal Rumble 2025, Bliss was seen as a spooky figure on the roster and was closely tied to ‘The Fiend’ persona of Bray Wyatt.
Since her comeback last year, Bliss has gone back to elements of her original self in every one of her feuds and has aligned herself with Charlotte Flair.
After breaking away from Flair, Bliss could bring back her spooky persona and join forces with The Wyatt Sicks.
1. Sami Zayn Becomes El Generico
Sami Zayn is among the top talent in WWE today and one of the most popular babyfaces on the roster.
As of late, Zayn has been getting more of a negative reaction after beating Carmelo Hayes to win the United States Championship on the March 27 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
If Sami turns heel, he could bring back an alter ego to be the babyface side of himself at the same time.
Zayn becoming El Generico could be fun exploration of the psych of the current US Champion after feeling turned on by the fans that made what he is today.
