6 Times WWE Got The Elimination Chamber Winner Wrong

4. Roman Reigns (Elimination Chamber 2018)

I acknowledge our Tribal Chief. I do it every night before bed. I also thank him for the character transformation as it means we no longer have to watch matches like this one.

In true WWE ‘more is better’ fashion, SEVEN Raw stars took part in this Elimination Chamber match to determine Brock Lesnar’s challenger at WrestleMania 34. It was awkward from the get go with the seven men in it but hey I guess people just really thought Elias had a chance.

The match saw Intercontinental Champion The Miz, Finn Balor, Elias, Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins, John Cena and the Big Dog himself fighting it out, and what a bore it ended up being.

We knew the destination, but that does not mean the journey there has to be so boring and predictable. Braun Strowman entered the match sixth, and he eliminated literally everyone in the match, including a white hot Seth Rollins, except for Roman Reigns.

Would he pin the Big Dog and make it a clean sweep? Of course he bloody wouldn’t. Roman pinned the Monster Among Men and went on to WrestleMania to face Brock Lesnar in a one-on-one singles match.

At least it’s out of the way and we never have to sit through another boring match which is just a plot device to get to Reigns vs Lesnar at WrestleMania, that’s so 2018, right?

…right?

Who should have won: Seth Rollins

WWE had their year long plan. They stuck to that plan. But come on now.

Rollins would win the 2019 Royal Rumble and face Lesnar at Mania the following year, but this match was right after the famous gauntlet match where Rollins wrestled for an hour, pinned both John Cena and Roman Reigns, and made himself the most over person on the roster.

Rollins vs Lesnar was the match to do at WrestleMania 34, and when they finally got to it a year later, Rollins had slightly cooled off following a boring Dean Ambrose feud that led to the rebirth of Jon Moxley.
