Enzo Amore WWE return plans: Will we get that Big Cass reunion soon?

One of the most interesting stories over the summer was WWE’s interest in bringing both Enzo Amore and Big Cass back to the company.

Over a month before Cass’ AEW departure in July, it was first reported that Enzo Amore had visited the WWE Performance Center in Orlando and was set to re-sign.

However, by the time Cass did return to WWE and re-emerge on the August 3 episode of Raw, there was no sign of Enzo, nor mention of his name.

It’s still unclear whether Enzo did sign a contract with WWE and the company are just holding off on his return, or whether no such deal was even agreed, however, with Cass’ solo run not setting the world on fire so far, it may not be long before we see Amore show up in WWE either way.

Here are three potential scenarios for Enzo Amore’s WWE return:

Moves to NXT as a solo act, leaving Big Cass on Raw

One of the interesting reports regarding Amore’s return to WWE was the supposed plan for the former Crusierweight Champion to be a part of the NXT brand when he went back.

It was certainly difficult to see the logic in that at the time, given that Enzo was, and still is, one of the most gifted talkers in pro wrestling. Why would he be sent back to NXT?

There isn’t much justification, but perhaps that is why we haven’t seen him by Cass’ side so far. The company may stubbornly press forward with the plans to keep Cass a heel on his own, while Enzo returns to NXT as a babyface.

Returns to confront Big Cass before eventual reunion

Big Cass’ MO upon returning to WWE was to quote “stack bodies” and that is what he has done, for the most part. Yes, Cass did begin on a destructive streak; laying out Je’Von Evans continuously, as well as a one week detour to wipe out Dragon Lee.

However, after just one win on WWE Raw and just over one month after his return to the company, Cass ate a pin from Je’Von Evans in a three-way Money in the Bank qualifying match that also involved Austin Theory.

With Cass already out of steam, but seemingly still intent on stacking those bodies, he could find himself face to face with a ghost from his past: Enzo Amore. Halting Cass’ attempts to beat the tar out of a helpless low-level WWE star or enhancement talent, Amore could attempt to reason with his former tag team partner only to be knocked back.

This can go on for a few weeks, or even months, before eventually Amore convinces Cass to embrace his more light hearted side so they can tag together again in WWE for the first time in almost a decade.

2027 Royal Rumble surprise entrant

While the ideal scenario that most fans want to see is a Enzo and Cass reunion, there are a number of ways to get there.

One route, that would provide a very memorable moment at one of WWE’s biggest PLEs would be my having Enzo Amore enter the 2027 Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant, unbeknownst to Big Cass.

Cass could already be in the ring when Amore’s music hits (the OG Sawft theme), leading to a massive eruption and an entire crowd chanting along with ‘Smacktalker Skywalker.’

WWE could either have Cass attack Enzo after teasing a reunion (the worse choice) or have that RoyaL Rumble surprise be the launch point for a true Enzo and Cass reunion in 2027.
