Former AEW champions to appear in MLP: Who will follow in the footsteps of Adam Copeland?

AEW/MLP

At MLP Northern Rising 2026, Adam Copeland made his in-ring debut for Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling with a win over Steve Maclin.

After Cope headlined the Maple Leaf Gardens, this should lead to other top stars and and former champions from All Elite Wrestling to appear in the promotion as well.

From living legends to main event level talent, these names would make for a big time spot in MLP for any of these stars in the near future.

Here are five former AEW champions to potentially appear in MLP.

Christian Cage

After watching Adam Copeland headline the Maple Leaf Gardens at MLP Northern Rising, this could lead to his longtime best friend and tag team partner wanting to do the same.

Christian Cage reunited with Copeland in 2025 and have since went on to become the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

After losing the gold at AEW All Out 2026, Cage could have some free time to visit Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling.

Knowing his relationship with Scott D’Amore, it feels like MLP fans will see Christian Cage appear sooner rather than later.

Kyle Fletcher

Despite becoming one of the future top stars in AEW, Kyle Fletcher has remained active on the independent scene.

“The Protostar” has appeared in various promotions around the world like CMLL and House of Glory.

Considering his manager Don Callis is one of the lead commentators, it would make sense if Fletcher was brought in to Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling.

Fletcher appearing in MLP could lead to another showstealer from the Don Callis Family member.

Kazuchika Okada

Speaking of The Don Callis Family, there is an argument that the biggest star in the group is Kazuchika Okada.

The current AEW International Champion remains one of the best in-ring performers in wrestling today.

In the past, Okada has displayed his respect for Scott D’Amore, even appearing back in TNA Wrestling thanks in large part to the MLP owner.

With Don Callis on commentary, “The Rainmaker” could make a rare independent appearance for MLP down the line.

Chris Jericho

With Adam Copeland making an appearance in the company, it could open the door for other legends to do the same.

Looking at the AEW roster, there might not be a bigger iconic star than Jericho.

The inaugural AEW World Champion could return to the indies for Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling at some point soon.

Whether it be challenging for the MLP Canadian Championship or facing a top Canadian star, Jericho could return to his home country to put on a show for Maple Leaf Pro.

Kenny Omega

In this current generation, there might not be a bigger Canadian wrestler than Kenny Omega.

“The Cleaner” has accomplished everything in the industry and could want to give back.

Wanting to inspire the next generation of Canadian talent, Omega could appear in Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling and show everyone that he is still one of the very best in the world today.

Omega headlining a MLP event in the future would be an enormous deal that could garner a ton of attention from the wrestling world.
