Tama Tonga pinned Kota Ibushi in a wild confrontation.

Before the match, Tama ran a sneak attack behind Ibushi. He dragged a dazed Ibushi around the ringside area and tossed him into the barricade. All the while, he looked into the camera and told New Japan management they “weren’t sh*t.” Finally in the ring, Kota tried to fight back with a forearm, but Tama maintained control, knocking the Golden Star down again. Ibushi got back on his feet and got Tama into the corner, but Tama reversed Ibushi’s attack into a powerslam.

Tama worked a chinlock on Ibushi, who struggled his foot over to the ropes to break it up. Ibushi was finally able to get some offense in, delivering a dropkick to Tama. However, Tama got back on his feet and the two began exchanging strikes, but Ibushi was able to use his power and quickness to gain advantage.

Ibushi ran the ropes, but Tama caught him with a misdirection dropkick. Tama teased a Tongan twist, but Ibushi reversed it into a half-and-half suplex, forcing Tama out of the ring. Ibushi ran to the second rope to perform a moonsault, but Tama ran back into the ring and cut it off. Dragging Ibushi into the crowd, Tama teased tossing him into the wall, but Ibushi reversed it and knocked him to the floor. Ibushi then went to the stairs and emerged on the second floor of the stands. He then did a moonsault off the balcony onto Tama for a massive pop.

Back in the ring, Ibushi tried to go for a Phoenix Splash, but Tanga Loa ran in to distract for long enough for Tama Tonga to recover. Tama hit a neckbreaker and DDT, but only for a two count. Ibushi blocked a Gun Stun and kneed Tama on the button. Kota went for his knee strike, but Loa grabbed Ibushi’s ankle. Tama tried to Gun Stun a distracted Ibushi, but Ibushi blocked him, knocking down the referee.

Bad Luck Fale ran in to attack Ibushi, but Kenny Omega ran in and delivered a V-Trigger to help Ibushi. Free now from the interlopers, Ibushi hit a lariat. He tried to go for a kamigoye knee strike, but Tama countered with a pop-up Gun Stun for a three count. In the aftermath, the Tongans attacked Ibushi and Omega, with Loa hitting Kenny with a powerbomb, before Hangman Page and Chase Owens chased them off.

Tama Tonga now has six points. Ibushi remains at 10 and now needs a lot of help to win his block.
