AEW
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has had its fair share of returns over the past few months in 2026.
Whether it be Chris Jericho or Will Ospreay, these stars have added a lot to bolstering the roster and becoming prominent parts of the landscape of the company.
Looking at the list of talent that are currently sidelined for a variety of reasons, there could be some intriguing comebacks in the near future for AEW.
Here are eight more AEW returns to potentially take place soon.
8. Anna Jay

Anna Jay was named #99 in the Dark Order by Brodie Lee
Willow Nightingale has been earning the moniker of ‘The Comeback Killer’ during her current reign as AEW TBS Champion.
In recent weeks, Nightingale has scored a series of victories over returning stars, such as Hikaru Shida, Queen Aminata and Kamille.
Now, Willow has added yet another returning talent to her list of successful defenses when she defeated Anna Jay for the TBS Title on the May 2 episode of AEW Collision.
Although some saw this as a farewell for Jay with her AEW contract expiring soon, there’s a possibility she could return full-time soon if she ends up re-signing.
7. Jake Doyle

Jake Doyle was previously known as Jake Something before signing with AEW
In January, Jake Doyle signed with All Elite Wrestling and immediately joined forces with The Don Callis Family.
Forming a tag team with Mark Davis, Doyle looked to make an instant impact on AEW television through his pairing here.
However, Doyle suffered a torn bicep injury during his and Davis’ match against FTR for the AEW World Tag Team Championship on the January 28 edition of Dynamite.
While he will be out of action a little longer, Doyle could be on his way back sooner than expected and trying to regain his momentum early in his AEW run.
6. Brian Cage

Brian Cage is a former TNA World Champion
Another Don Callis Family member who has been on the shelf with a serious knee injury is Brian Cage.
After undergoing three knee surgeries, Cage will look to once again solidify himself as a consistent in-ring performer on the AEW roster.
Cage recently announced his return to the squared circle that will take place in the Warrior Wrestling independent promotion in May.
Wanting to establish himself as someone who can be seen on AEW TV week-to-week, Cage could recement his status with the Don Callis Family with a return to the company this spring.
5. Wardlow

Wardlow is known as Fang in the new American Gladiators season
Looking at the members of the Don Callis Family, Wardlow is another star who could be on his way back to All Elite Wrestling.
At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025, Wardlow made his return to the company after over a year away from the promotion.
After immediately joining the Don Callis Family, it was revealed that Wardlow had suffered a torn pectoral muscle injury that had kept him sidelined over eight months.
The three-time TNT Champion could be a key return for the Don Callis Family that might be able to come back into a prominent role in the company moving forward.
4. Keith Lee

Keith Lee last wrestled on the December 23, 2023 AEW Collision taping
Among all the talent that has been on the sidelines, Keith Lee may be the AEW star who has been away from the company for the longest time.
Ahead of AEW Worlds End 2023, Lee was pulled from the lineup and placed on the shelf with lingering back injuries.
‘The Limitless One’ has been absent from AEW TV for over two years now and may be on his way back in the near future.
Lee returning could see him turning heel for the first time since signing with AEW and set up some tantalizing matchups against the likes of Swerve Strickland, ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and Will Ospreay.
3. Britt Baker

Britt Baker won the 2022 women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament
After making her return to All Elite Wrestling in the summer of 2024, Dr Britt Baker DMD was written off of television in November of that same year.
Baker is one of the biggest homegrown stars that has stepped foot in an AEW ring and is a former AEW Women’s World Champion.
With an over one year absence from the company, Baker could be on her way back to All Elite Wrestling sometime soon.
Considering Willow Nightingale is currently facing returning stars for the TBS Championship, Baker feels like someone who could square off with ‘The Comeback Killer’ in the coming weeks or months.
2. Jay White

Jay White is a two-time IWGP World Heavyweight Champion
Ahead of AEW Dynasty 2025, Jay White had to remove himself from the Owen Hart Foundation men’s tournament due to a broken hand injury.
While recovering from his broken hand, ‘Switchblade’ also underwent surgery to recover from a shoulder injury as well.
Now that he has been on the sidelines for a year, it feels like the right time to have White make his comeback to the promotion in the coming months.
White making his return could lead to him once again becoming a top contender for the AEW World Championship and become a main event player in the company again.
1. Kyle Fletcher

Kyle Fletcher was voted the 2024 Wrestling Observer Most Improved Wrestler of the Year
On the March 28 episode of AEW Collision, Don Callis Family’s Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis defeated The Rascalz.
During the course of the match, Fletcher suffered a torn meniscus injury that will keep him sidelined indefinitely.
‘The Protostar’ is someone who was on the rise and considered a future top star for All Elite Wrestling for years to come.
While he will be out of action for some time, Tony Khan did confirm he expects Fletcher to return by AEW All In: London 2026, which could lead to his return coming sooner rather than later.
