Mark Henry has showered The Miz with praise following his performances on the May 29 episode of WWE SmackDown in Barcelona, Spain.
One of the marquee matches on the first televised stop on WWE’s European Tour saw two-time WWE Grand Slam Champion The Miz take on Spain’s very own Axiom one-on-one.
Much like Axiom’s last homecoming performance against GUNTHER on the March 14, 2025 episode of SmackDown, Axiom was welcomed back with open arms and this time picked up the win in front of his people.
While Axiom showed off what he could do inside the ring, The Miz’s performances in the ring, as well as during promo segments, have drawn the attention of WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry.
During the latest episode of Busted Open After Dark, Mark Henry agreed that The Miz is in his prime right now and WWE are currently showing him the respect that he deserves:
“Y’all gonna miss Miz when he’s gone. Miz, he said in his promo with Nick Aldis that he was in his prime. And I truly believe that. I truly believe that right now, Miz is as good as he ever was.
“The only thing is that, a lot of the times the companies don’t see it like that. And I think right now they are showing him the respect he deserves as a Grand Slam Champion.
“Not only do they bring it up all the time, which is a bonus for Miz because of his sense of accomplishment. But he can still get in there and go with anybody. And he’s proven that this year and last year, we saw Miz have some unbelievable matches.”

Has The Miz Earned Another Shot At WWE Gold?
The Miz is one of WWE’s few “teflon” talents, in that it doesn’t matter how many losses he racks up or how many times he’s made to the look the fool, he never comes off any worse off for it.
While some would push back on the idea of Miz progressing beyond the comedy role he’s currently locked into, others may think his recent work has earned him another run with some form of championship gold.
Now, it’s unlikely we ever see Miz elevated to main event status again, but how about a mid-card title or run with tag team gold? “The A-Lister” should certainly be up for consideration.
While it seems wrong for Miz to not, at one point look to break Chris Jericho’s all-time WWE Intercontinental Title reign record – with Miz being just one run with the gold away from tying Y2J – it seems far more likely that Miz will find success in his tag team with Kit Wilson.
The MFTs are currently after Damian Priest and R-Truth’s WWE Tag Team Titles, but if they don’t manage to wrestle the gold away from Wepa Up, perhaps Miz and Kit will be next in line.
