Two weeks ago, former WWE Tag Team Champion Grayson Waller made headlines in his return to the NXT brand.

Waller cut a scathing promo on his return to the brand about the current state of the division, and set his sights on the NXT Championship that he never held during his run.

After Waller’s return, there are more current main roster stars we could see return to NXT to revive their careers.

Here are some more WWE main roster stars we could soon see return to NXT after Grayson Waller.

The Creed Brothers

The Creed Brothers were the focal point of the NXT Tag Team division during the early days of the NXT 2.0 era until their call up at the end of 2023.

However, in 2026 on the WWE main roster, Julius and Brutus Creed remain probably the only people involved in the recent El Grande Americano saga to not be better off coming out of it.

The Creeds primarily wrestle on WWE Main Event nowadays, and WWE continues to be in no rush to actually improve it’s tag team division on Raw.

Meanwhile, NXT does seem to be attempting to revive it’s tag team division, and adding a pair of former NXT Tag Team Champions to the mix would add a lot of instant credibility.

Ivy Nile

Speaking of the Creed Brothers, they aren’t the only members of the American Made faction that can only be found on WWE Main Event nowadays.

Ivy Nile finds herself in a weird position on the Raw roster right now where, even though she herself is incredibly talented with a lot of potential, she can’t really ascend up the card due to how little depth exists in the division.

Ivy is current perceived so far below the rest of the women in the Raw women’s division, and with there only being three active babyfaces on the Raw roster right now, she realistically can’t gain any momentum in it’s current state.

A return to NXT to shine more spotlight on her skills again could be what she needs to pick up more momentum in the company.

Ilja Dragunov

Ilja Dragunov’s absence from WWE television continues to frustrate fans of the Mad Dragon who waited over a year for his in-ring return in 2025.

Ilja became one of WWE’s best in-ring performers during his NXT Championship reign prior to his main roster call up in 2024, with him even making his return to capture the United States Championship upon his return.

However, Ilja now remains off television after not competing since the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal the night before WrestleMania 42, with no injury being reported.

If the main roster has no plans for Ilja, sending him back to NXT will add a spark to both he and the NXT men’s division.

Fraxiom

Speaking of great former NXT champions that are currently not doing much of anything on SmackDown, it has now been over a year since Fraxiom arrived on the blue brand.

During their time in NXT, Nathan Frazer and Axiom were considered one of, if not the very best tag team in the world, having incredible matches with teams such as Chase U, Hank and Tank and the Wolf Dogs.

On the main roster, Fraxiom always stand out on the rare times they are given ring time, but have failed to really capture any momentum in a dying tag team division.

Fraxiom returning to NXT would make them immediate fan favorites back in their home.

Jordynne Grace

When Grayson Waller returned to NXT, he cited one of the reasons for his return being that he wanted to finally capture the NXT Championship after he moved up to the main roster without winning it.

The same can be said for Jordynne Grace, who came into NXT at the same time as a number of other major free agents, namely Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer, who took hold of the title before Jordynne was able to.

It seemed as though NXT was hesitant to put the title on Grace due to plans for her to be called up to the main roster almost immediately following her debut in NXT, but six months into her main roster run and Jordynne is never seen on television.

Jordynne returning to NXT and finally capturing the title would be a far better use than what is currently happening on SmackDown.

Kit Wilson

At the beginning of 2026, Kit Wilson genuinely managed to become one of the most popular stars on the SmackDown brand for a short period of time.

However, six months later and WWE has managed to put out the fire that was Kit Wilson’s momentum, with him now barely featured on the show, and when he is, it’s as a zombified version of himself.

After genuinely being on course to become a staple of the SmackDown midcard, Kit Wilson now barely finds himself better off a year on from Elton Prince’s injury.

With Prince’s status still unknown, Kit returning as a solo star to NXT in the mean time would help get him back on the right track.
