AEW
Coming out of All Out 2026, The Brawling Birds are still holding the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
With their Chicago Street Fight win over Divine Dominion, Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor might need new challengers coming after their titles.
This should lead to AEW stars pairing together to challenge The Birds in the near future.
Here are four new AEW women’s tag teams coming soon.
Hyan & Thunder Rosa
When they first arrived in All Elite Wrestling, Hyan and Maya World came in as a pair.
However, World broke out in a major way by advancing to the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Finals against Mercedes Monè at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026 and then winning the TBS Championship.
Months later, Hyan is now on her own after Maya World suffered an injury that currently has her sidelined.
This will lead to Hyan teaming with a new partner in Thunder Rosa when they face Persephone and Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. on the September 30 AEW Dynamite, which could be the start of this partnership in the women’s tag team scene.
Zayda Steel & Red Velvet
Over in Ring of Honor, Red Velvet has started to team with Zayda Steel in tag team competition.
While she is the ROH World TV Champion, Velvet has found success next to Steel.
This could open the door for both women to have a more featured role on AEW TV.
Steel and Velvet challenging The Brawling Birds would give the champions a different kind of obstacle to overcome moving forward.
Hikaru Shida & Emi Sakura
Hikaru Shida is one of the most decorated female stars in AEW history.
Being a three-time AEW Women’s World Champion and former TBS Champion, Shida has one last title she needs to win in the company.
While she has teamed with the likes of Persephone and Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. recently, Shida might find the right partner to go after gold in her mentor, Emi Sakura.
After recently making her return to ROH TV, Sakura could make her comeback to AEW programming next to Shida and become future contenders for The Brawling Birds.
Willow Nightingale & Kris Statlander
Willow Nightingale and Kris Statlander reconciled with one another in December 2025 after the former beat Mercedes Monè to win the TBS Championship at New Year’s Smash.
Recently, Statlander had been teaming with her and Willow’s mutual friend Harley Cameron, but the former AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champion suffered a knee injury at All In London 2026.
Meanwhile, Nightingale finds herself outside of the AEW Women’s World Title for the first time in months after losing to Thekla at All Out 2026.
This could lead to Willow and Statlander coming together to form a super team that might be the perfect matchup for The Brawling Birds with the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships up for grabs sooner rather than later.
