WWE/AEW
WWE AAA has become one of the most popular brands and weekly TV shows in wrestling in 2026.
With more eyes on the product, there could be greater opportunity for the company to sign some top names from around the wrestling world to bolster the roster.
From those in the WWE ID program to top names from other companies like AEW, NJPW and CMLL, AAA has the chance to significantly continue their recent momentum with some key pickups from the free agency market.
Here are six new potential WWE AAA signings.
6. Xena
Looking at the AAA women’s division, there are a few prominent names like AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Flammer, Los Toxicas and La Catalina.
STARDOM has been home to some of the very best women’s wrestlers of the past two decades and could have some talent leaving that could help AAA.
Recent rumors have indicated that the Australian-born Xena will see her deal with STARDOM set to expire soon and was recently some interest from WWE.
With her look, skills in the ring and experience from Japan, Xena could be someone that stands out and helps to add to the field of talent for the AAA brand right now.
5. Gianna Capri
The WWE ID program just recently introduced their second class of talent after the influx of talent that started this new concept have moved on to the NXT brand.
Looking at this new crop of talent, Gianna Capri was someone who instantly stood and showed her charisma immediately.
With several years on the independent scene, Capri has showcased the poise of a veteran and found her chance to shine on Evolve as of late.
Adding to the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship picture, Gianna Capri might find her way to get the spotlight by heading to Mexico for this opportunity.
4. Santi Rivera
Another recent WWE ID signing that could step up in Lucha Libre AAA is Santi Rivera.
The Puerto Rican born star has become one of the most prominent names on the Evolve brand as a member of The Mog Squad.
Alongside Max Abrams, CJ Valor and Jabari Ball, Rivera looks to be filling the void left behind by The Vanity Project on the brand and being highlighted as a character in a significant way early on.
Wanting to take this one step further, Rivera could gain some valuable experience at this stage of his career by joining the likes of Jack Cartwheel in Lucha Libre AAA some time soon.
3. Soberano Jr.
It is no understatement to say that Soberano Jr. is one of the most popular luchadors in Mexico right now.
Regularly garnering the loudest pops of the night in Arena Mexico, Soberano Jr. has established an undeniable connection with the fans, especially the females in the crowd.
There were previous rumors that the masked man was set to leave CMLL, but Soberano came out to confirm that he signed a three-year deal with the promotion in 2023.
With his contract set to expire later this year, WWE AAA should try to offer Soberano a deal to bring one of the top stars in Mexico to their company as soon as possible.
2. Persephone
When looking at CMLL, Persephone has emerged as one of the biggest stars in the promotion regardless of gender.
The current CMLL Women’s World Champion became the first female to sign a dual contract with All Elite Wrestling. However, Persephone confirmed that her contract with both companies are set to expire at the end of 2026, with WWE said to be interested.
The 24-year old star has showcased herself to exude confidence and has continued to improve inside the squared circle every single time out.
Now that she has the experience in Mexico and in the United States with AEW, Persephone could be a crucial piece in making sure the AAA women’s division becomes a highlight of the product moving forward.
1. Hiromu Takahashi
One of the top names that has been mentioned as a future free agent signing for WWE is Hiromu Takahashi.
“The Ticking Time Bomb” shocked many fans when he announced his departure from New Japan Pro Wrestling following The New Beginning in Osada event.
After 15 years with NJPW, Takahashi will come in as a highly touted, international star, but they can use his experience to legitimately contribute to the brand.
Considering his time in CMLL for his excursion, Takahashi signing with WWE and starting on AAA would be interesting, especially with the opportunity to revisit his rivalry with Dragon Lee in Mexico as well.
