NXT TakeOver: New Orleans Preview – Help Me I’m Drooling

The Undisputed Era (c) vs. The Authors of Pain vs. Pete Dunne and Roderick Strong – NXT Tag Team Championships

This could be really good, and I mean REALLY good.

Just look at the three teams competing in this match and unless they all undergo lobotomies five minutes prior to the match, this will be an absolute slobber knocker.

You’ve got the very technically gifted and high flying teams of the Undisputed Era and Dunne and Strong, who will henceforth be known as ‘Dung’, and then the big scary monster team of the Authors of Pain.

You would expect the match to go in typical “little guys vs. big guys” fashion, with the two smaller teams trying to work away at the big guys in an attempt to gain an advantage.

Expect plenty of crazy spots, broken fingers and kicks to the face, because, well, that’s what these guys are really good at – and I’ve always been told you should do what you’re best at, which is why I generally sit on the sofa watching TV all day.

The Authors of Pain look to be the favorites on paper, but as this match is wrestled in a ring rather than on a sheet of paper, there’s a bit more to it than that.

Many expect Akam and Rezar to be called up after ‘Mania, so having them win here would be an unusual call, to say the least. The pair has done pretty much all they can on the yellow and black brand, so I think it’s time they began writing their sequel on the main roster.

Dunne and Strong have worked together incredibly well given their very short notice tag pairing after Tyler Bate suffered an injury, but because of the recent nature of their teaming up, I think it’s a bit early to see the belts on them. That’s not to say I don’t want them to win, because I think they would look great with the belts.

However, I can’t see them taking the titles away from the Undisputed Era just yet, so I think they’ll come out on top in what will be an undoubtedly brilliant match.
