Following their tease on last week’s WWE Raw show, here is why now is the perfect time to run Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker.
Last week’s episode of WWE Raw was one of the most praised episodes of the show in all of 2026, with fan excitement at a rare high coming out of the show.
Among the reasons for that was WWE’s teaser of an exciting future direction on the Raw brand, when Oba Femi and Bron Breakker would cross paths on Bron’s way to the ring.
During his time in NXT, dating back as far as the initial episode of NXT 2.0 in September 2021, Bron Breakker, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner, was touted as one of, if not the overall, standout future star for the next generation.
Breakker’s rise on the WWE main roster was almost instant, with him becoming a two-time Intercontinental Champion in his first year, before immediately being hand chosen by Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman to join the Vision stable coming out of WrestleMania 41.
However, injuries and other mishaps have led to the Vision’s momentum almost completely coming to a standstill, with the latest iteration of the group with Breakker, Austin Theory, Logan Paul and Maxxine Dupri not lighting the world on fire.
Bron Breakker’s Path Back To The Top Goes Through Oba Femi
During the time where Bron Breakker’s momentum has hit a wall on Raw, Oba Femi burst onto the WWE main roster with a full head of steam, with him officially being anointed as the ‘next big thing’ after his Hell In A Cell victory over Brock Lesnar at WWE SummerSlam, bringing an end to the Beast’s WWE career.
With WWE drumming into us that Oba is the next big thing, it only stands to reason that Breakker would take exception to those claims and want to step up to the Ruler, proving once and for all who is the biggest dog in the yard for years to come.
Outside of kayfabe, WWE’s booking has flattered to deceive in 2026, with the company really in need of exciting new storylines and matches coming out of SummerSlam, which is exactly what Breakker vs. Femi is.

Bron Breakker vs. Oba Femi Brings A Change To WWE’s 2026 Creative Structure
In the Triple H era of WWE, the company has been rather rigid with long term plans, sometimes to a fault, with it seeming as though most ‘marquee’ matches are saved for WrestleMania, SummerSlam or other major events, which often leaves the B-shows feeling uneventful and very skippable.
The habit of big matches having to be held off for major events for ‘first time ever’ clashes years down the line is one WWE really should break, and the decision to run Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker so soon is a welcome change of pace from how things have been handled in this company in recent years, and is hopefully the start of a different outlook on booking and matchmaking on a wider level to help add more intrigue to every show on all levels at any time of the year.
