Oba Femi’s Immediate Reaction After Beating Brock Lesnar At WWE SummerSlam 2026

Oba Femi has shared his immediate reaction after defeating Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell at WWE SummerSlam 2026 night one.

The main event of tonight’s show saw Femi survive numerous F5s and a Tombstone Piledriver on the exposed wooden ring boards to defeat Lesnar and go up 2-1 in their record against each other.

After the match, Lesnar effectively passed the torch to Femi, referring to himself as the past of WWE and Femi as the future.

During the official SummerSlam post-show, Jackie Redmond interviewed Femi on the stage to get his immediate thoughts.

He said:

“I don’t know how I survived, but the truth is this: the future is not far away. The future is now, and the future is me.

“The hug and public endorsement was definitely a swerve I didn’t see coming, but I knew deep down Brock has always respected me, and he knows deep down, I respect him as well.

“This moment means everything to me. All my hard work and dedication, all my years in Nigeria, all my years doing shot put, all my years fighting everything has led up to this moment.

“Destiny has been kind to me, she will never forget me, she will always forgive me, she remembers her son, Oba Femi!”

The Importance Of WWE’s Follow-Up To Oba Femi Beating Brock Lesnar

After WrestleMania 42 we thought that Oba Femi was about to be pushed to the moon, but he ended up continuing his feud with Lesnar instead.

Now that it’s completely finished, it’s important that WWE follows up and doesn’t let Femi cool off by drawing out a major title win too long.

It’d be understandable that WWE wants Femi to become champion on the biggest stage – but in waiting for that time, for example, WrestleMania 43 in April 2027, there’s too much time in the meantime for Femi’s popularity to stall – not because of anything he’d do, but the booking.

WWE really should just get the World Title on Oba Femi as soon as possible now and not risk that happening.
