Planned Main Event For WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night One Revealed

The planned main event for tonight’s WWE SummerSlam 2026 night one show has been revealed with the event just a few hours from getting underway.

With Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins set for night two, night one has two matches that could be considered headliners – the Undisputed WWE Championship match between CM Punk and Cody Rhodes, and the Hell in a Cell match between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar.

As reported by PWInsider Elite, it’s the Femi vs Lesnar match that is currently scheduled to main event tonight’s show.

There has been speculation, though nothing has been confirmed, that this match could mark Lesnar’s final outing in WWE, with it taking place in his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and it being the deciding match in his three-match series against Femi with them currently tied at one apiece.

Femi defeated Lesnar at WrestleMania 42, then in a return match at Clash In Italy, Lesnar scored the win to even things up.

As noted, as of this writing, we’re a few hours away from SummerSlam kicking off, so WWE’s plans might change in that time including the order of the matches.

If that is the case, we’ll keep you posted with any further updates – but as of now, Lesnar vs Femi is the planned main event.

Will Brock Lesnar Retire At WWE SummerSlam 2026?

While there has been plenty of talk about Brock Lesnar retiring at SummerSlam, there have been rumors to the contrary as well.

Losing to Oba Femi tonight would be a fitting way to close out Lesnar’s career, and really, the initial WrestleMania match seemed like the perfect way as well until he ended up returning for the follow-up matches.

The one thing that could potentially prevent a Lesnar retirement from taking place tonight is WWE wanting to give the accolade of retiring him to the ‘Career Killer’ GUNTHER, adding another name to the list of major stars the Austrian has retired over the past year.

Also, GUNTHER vs Lesnar is a match that has never happened despite being originally planned for WrestleMania 40 back in 2024, so it might be something WWE wants to circle back to before Lesnar finishes up.
