WWE SummerSlam 2026 night one is now in the books with career defining victories and some notable returns.
Coming off the heels of night one, there are a lot of things that fans have learned from the results of the SummerSlam premium live event.
From champions proving themselves to torches being passed, the fallout from SummerSlam will hold some ramifications on WWE TV moving forward.
Here are seven things we learned at WWE SummerSlam 2026 night one.
7. Liv Morgan Shows She Can Successfully Defend The WWE Women’s World Championship
At WWE WrestleMania 42, Liv Morgan defeated Stephanie Vaquer to win the Women’s World Championship.
Over the next 100 days, Morgan did not defend her title once until the WWE SummerSlam 2026 premium live event.
On night one, Morgan finally proved herself to be a fighting champion by recording her first successful title defense with a win over IYO SKY.
After scoring a clean win over ‘The Genius of the Sky,’ Liv Morgan was able to shut up some naysayers and critics who have been calling her title reign into question at WWE SummerSlam 2026.
6. Liv Morgan Is No Longer Cursed
At WWE Night of Champions 2026, IYO SKY defeated Liv Morgan to win the Queen of the Ring final.
Ahead of this bout, Morgan crossed paths with Danhausen to attempt to get The Judgment Day’s money back from him.
However, Danhausen proceeded to curse Morgan, leading to her loss in the tournament.
While The Judgment Day have had their struggles and failures since becoming an enemy to Danhausen, Morgan proved that she is no longer cursed with a win over IYO SKY at WWE SummerSlam 2026 in Minneapolis.
5. Solo Sikoa’s Babyface Run Is An Instant Hit
Over the past few weeks, Solo Sikoa has found some new allies in the form of LA Knight and Royce Keys in his war with The Bloodline.
At WWE SummerSlam 2026, Sikoa, Knight and Keys picked up a victory over Jacob Fatu and The Usos in a six-man tag team match.
During the course of the bout, Sikoa showcased his undeniable charisma and likable personality, garnering plenty of cheers from the fans in attendance.
It is without question that Sikoa’s recent babyface turn has connected with the fans and could see him potentially become one of the popular names on the WWE roster coming out of SummerSlam 2026.
4. Nick Aldis Has Still Got It & Is Reinstated As SmackDown General Manager During SummerSlam Post Show
After waiting his entire career, Nick Aldis competed in his very first WWE match at SummerSlam 2026.
Following a three-year layoff from in-ring competition, Aldis did not show any ring rust and stood toe-to-toe with GUNTHER in what was one of the most memorable bouts on the card.
Then on the SummerSlam Post Show, Aldis gave Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque a letter of resignation to give up his SmackDown General Manager position.
However, ‘The Game’ ripped this letter up and made sure to let Aldis know that he is reinstated as SmackDown GM, which could open the door for another match down the line.
3. The Bella Twins Are Still Evil
At WWE SummerSlam 2026, Fatal Influence defeated Paige and The Bella Twins in a six-woman tag team bout.
After losing this match, the Total Divas trio all hugged one another before Nikki Bella attacked Paige, leading to a two-on-one beatdown on the Bellas’ former friend.
This move was made due to Paige taking Nikki’s spot as the tag team partner to her twin sister Brie Bella at WrestleMania 42 and winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Now looking to take back her spot, Nikki will reunite with Brie as a duo and show the world how evil they really are moving forward.
2. Randy Orton Is Back & Got Revenge On Cody Rhodes For His WrestleMania 42 Loss
Following WrestleMania 42, Randy Orton has been absent from WWE television over the past few months.
Approaching SummerSlam, there were rumors and reports regarding a possible return for ‘The Legend Killer’ in the near future.
At WWE SummerSlam 2026, CM Punk defeated Cody Rhodes to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship after Orton made his return to lay out his Mania 42 opponent with an RKO.
Orton now being back means that the entire landscape of Friday Night SmackDown will be different coming out of the WWE SummerSlam 2026 PLE.
1. Brock Lesnar Has Officially Passed The Torch To Oba Femi
The main event of WWE SummerSlam 2026 saw Oba Femi defeat Brock Lesnar inside Hell In A Cell.
After scoring his second win over ‘The Beast,’ Femi is now cemented as a main event level talent, but Lesnar decided to take things a step further.
Stepping into the ring following the match, Lesnar hugged Oba, raised his hand and got on the mic to tell the fans that Femi is the future of the industry.
With Brock giving him his endorsement, Femi is now a made man and will now reach new heights following his career-defining victory in Hell In A Cell at SummerSlam.
