WWE NXT is completely different from how the year started for the brand when it comes to the talent on the roster and the champions.

Looking at the list of titleholders on NXT, most of them were crowned in the past few months of 2026.

Whether it be reigns that just started or ones that have been going on for months, it should be interesting to rank the current runs everyone is having with the gold on WWE NXT right now.

Here are our rankings for every current WWE NXT Champion’s reign.

8. Heritage Cup – Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo

On the June 24, 2025 edition of WWE NXT, Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo defeated Tony D’Angelo to win the vacant NXT Heritage Cup.

This reign was short-lived when a few weeks later, Tony D tossed the Heritage Cup into the river to send a message to his former ‘Underboss.’

Since then, NXT has made little reference to the Heritage Cup despite Lorenzo still being listed as the current champion.

Due to the unconfirmed nature of this reign, Stacks’ run as Heritage Cup Champion has to rank last of the current reigns of NXT Champions at this time.

7. WWE Speed Champion – Lexis King

On the April 21 NXT Revenge special, Lexis King defeated EK Prosper to win the WWE Speed Championship Tournament Finals.

Bringing gold to Birthright, King has taken on the mantle of “the fastest wrestler in all of NXT.”

Despite winning the gold about a month ago, King has not yet defended the WWE Speed Title at the time of this writing.

Because of his lack of defenses since winning the gold, King ranks pretty low out of the current NXT champions’ reigns.

6. WWE Women’s Speed Champion – Wren Sinclair

On the March 17 edition of WWE NXT, Wren Sinclair defeated Fallon Henley to win the WWE Speed Women’s Championship.

After this huge win in her hometown of Houston, Texas, Sinclair has been trying to prove herself as a fighting champion.

While she has not defended the gold on WWE NXT TV, Sinclair does have four successful defenses at NXT live events.

The lack of televised defenses is the only thing that keeps Sinclair lower on this list compared to her fellow champions.

5. NXT Tag Team Champions – The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes)

On the February 24 episode of WWE NXT, The Vanity Project’s Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes defeated DarkState to win the NXT Tag Team Championship.

Since then, The Vanity Project went on to NXT Stand & Deliver 2026 where they successfully defended the gold against Los Americanos.

With two other defenses on NXT live events, Baylor and Smokes have proven that they want to cement their legacy as champions on the brand.

Considering their second televised title defense will take place on the May 19 NXT, it remains to be seen what this reign will have to offer moving forward, so The Vanity Project will place right in the middle of this ranking.

4. NXT Champion – Tony D’Angelo

At WWE Stand & Deliver 2026, Tony D’Angelo defeated Joe Hendry, Ethan Page and Ricky Saints to win the NXT Championship.

Picking up this huge victory, D’Angelo showed that he can stand toe-to-toe and beat three former NXT Champions in one fell swoop.

Tony D has since successfully defended the gold against Ethan Page at the NXT Revenge special.

Now with new stars coming to the brand looking to be next in line for the gold, D’Angelo’s reign is really just getting started, but his quality wins keep him in this position on our ranking.

3. NXT Women’s Champion – Lola Vice

At the WWE NXT Stand & Deliver 2026 premium live event, Lola Vice defeated Jacy Jayne and Kendal Grey to win the NXT Women’s Championship.

Vice went on to defeat Jayne in a singles match to retain the title on the NXT Revenge Week 1 special.

Now that she has finally won the gold after multiple attempts, Vice faces off with some new challengers that have emerged in the NXT women’s division.

With two other non-televised defenses and getting ready for a title bout with Izzi Dame coming soon, Vice has to be placed near the top of our ranking for NXT Champions.

2. NXT Women’s North American Champion – Tatum Paxley

At WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2026, Tatum Paxley defeated Izzi Dame to win the NXT Women’s Championship.

After winning the gold, Paxley has had three successful defenses that have been televised against Dame in a Steel Cage rematch and two over Blake Monroe.

Outside of WWE NXT TV, Paxley has four other successful title wins against a strong list of challengers like Kali Armstrong, Nikkita Lyons and Layla Diggs.

With the likes of Zaria and Lizzy Rain looking for title opportunities, Paxley will remain high on the list of current NXT champions’ reigns on the brand.

1. NXT North American Champion – Myles Borne

On the February 24 episode of WWE NXT, Myles Borne defeated Ethan Page to win the NXT North American Championship.

Borne has proven himself as a fighting champion with multiple defenses on NXT TV and live events.

Tallying 11 successful defenses at the time of this writing, Borne has been willing to not step down from any challenge before him.

With the new talent targeting him like Kam Hendrix and Tristan Angels, Borne will continue to prove himself as the best current title holder in NXT at the moment.
