WWE Hell in a Cell 2018 Preview – WrestleTalk

Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Becky Lynch – WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship

We go from one of the coldest feuds heading into Hell in a Cell to one of the hottest, as ‘Straight Fire’ Becky Lynch tries to priese the SmackDown Women’s Title away from Charlotte Flair’s grasp.

There’s been a lot made of who’s the heel and who’s the babyface coming into this one, and, to be honest, I’m not going to go into it too much here, but I will say that whatever it is they’re doing has made me care about this match.

It’s less about who’s the heel and who’s the babyface, and more just about winning the title. The match actually feels big and like it means something. Whether that’s because of the creative team’s treatment of Lynch, then fantastic. If not, still, fantastic.

The pair are being advertised for a rematch at Super Show-Down and will probably square off at Evolution too, so the question is how they’re going to go about stretching the feud out, while also keeping it interesting.

Well, according to recent reports, a double-turn is in the offing, which will see Charlotte very much portrayed as the heel, with Becky playing the underdog babyface, like what many believe should have happened in the first place.

Either way, we’re set for a big match here, but I think Lynch’s crowning moment will be held off until Evolution, so I’m picking Charlotte to retain on this occasion.

Prediction: Charlotte Flair

Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton – Hell in a Cell match

The first match to take place inside the Big Red Cell also, somehow, happens to be Hardy’s first in the HiaC structure, as he takes on the earlobe merchant Randy Orton.

This feud started way back at Extreme Rules when Orton returned from a couple of months out on the injury shelf to attack Hardy after his US Title loss to Shinsuke Nakamura.

Since then, Orton has been pulling earlobes for days, and Hardy has, you guessed it, been jumping off high things.

And, if his recent comments are anything to go by, that’s exactly what he’s going to do tonight, the absolute nutter. Hardy recently told us to “expect the unexpected,” so… yeah, do that thing.

I think, even though Jeff will probably take the headlines with whatever stunt he decides to perform, it will be the ‘Viper’ that picks up the win in this one. He hasn’t really won a big match since turning heel, so it would make sense for him to pick up the win in his seventh Cell match.

Add to that the fact that Hardy is probably going to be taking time off very soon, a win for Orton seems a nigh-on certainty.

Prediction: Randy Orton
