HOW IS BECKY NOT THE FACE?! This match was a solid start to a feud that will likely continue through Super Show-Down all the way to Evolution and possibly beyond. Lynch is the deserving champion who keeps getting her hard-fought opportunities handed to Roman Rei – I mean Charlotte Flair and here she finally got her win.
The bout was built around the two working over their opponent’s specialized submission bodyparts with Flair attacking Lynch’s leg for the Figure Eight and Becky aiming for the ‘Queen’s arm for the Dis-Arm-Her. Instead of this playing into the finish, however, it was more used for near-falls with a reversed spear earning Lynch the one, two, three.
As this feud will continue, it was a clever finish to keep Flair strong before she eventually gives in for real and taps out, solidifying the new WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion as her better in the end.
