WWE Money In The Bank 2018
WWE Championship – Last Man Standing
AJ Styles (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
This was the first time I’ve truly enjoyed AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura in WWE. They took it to each other like they should’ve done months ago and finally settled their feud. It still wasn’t on the same level as their NJPW match but I don’t believe it ever could have been within the confines of WWE.
As far as last man standing matches go, this was one of the best in recent memory. It had a good balance between proper wrestling and simple no-disqualification fun. I finally enjoyed a low blow as well with AJ kicking the children right out of Nakamura in a pure and unflinching manner. They used their surroundings perfectly and it was a fitting end to this war.
WWE Money In The Bank 2018
WWE Raw Women’s Championship
Nia Jax (c) vs. Ronda Rousey
Isn’t it funny that thanks to appalling booking on Raw, we all forgot that Rousey is actually incredibly sound in the ring? She can strike with the best of them, sell with the best of them, and create jaw-dropping moments like all the greats before her. Someone, please get her a manager so she doesn’t have to speak and just let her loose on her opponents.
Nia looked like the dominating force she is meant to be and that is mostly down to how Rousey played off of her. The ‘Rowdy One’ came across like she was legitimately stunned by Nia’s size and moveset which, thanks to the story they have told, is exactly what should’ve happened.
She is still an actual MMA fighting champion, however, and therefore still got the upper hand. That was until the women’s Money in the Bank winner intervened and we all know what happened next.
