WWE Raw vs. SmackDown #10 – June 25 & 26

Storyline Progression/Pay-per-view Build

This was certainly an interesting week in terms of what went down in the buildup to Extreme Rules on July 15, and we’re gonna rundown and compare how both shows played out this week.

Raw

Wait, am I watching last week’s show again?

Kurt Angle and Constable Baron Corbin opened the show in the ring, and following an interaction between Corbin and Jojo on annoucning him with his full job title of “Stephanie McMahon’s personally appointed Constable of Raw, Baron Corbin”, Angle had some news.

It seems Brock Lesnar might not actually be defending his WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam, which means the Extreme Rules number one contender’s match has been cancelled.

Roman Reigns came out to moan as he is one to do, and so did Bobby Lashley. Following a decently delivered exchange between the two, the Revival joined the fray and challenged them to a match, to avenge last week’s result.

Corbin made the match official, and following its conclusion, Lashley and Reigns looked at each other in a fairly irritated manner.

Raw Tag Title match made official for Extreme Rules

Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt appeared on the titantron and said some words about the B-Team in a way only they can.

Actually, scratch that, the B-Team can do it, too

Another parody promo followed before it was confirmed that their WWE Raw Tag Team Championship affair will take place at Extreme Rules.

Axel defeated Hardy one-on-one, which warranted a cry of “WONDERFUL!” and a standing ovation from the Deleters of Worlds.

I wonder who’s going to win this feud

After getting some Visa issues sorted, the Authors of Pain were back on Raw, and pushed over a poor bloke backstage.

Titus O’Neil, because he’s a really nice man, told them off and said they need to show some respect.

After AOP’s win, they continued their assault on the jobbers, until O’Neil and Apollo Crews ran down to the ring and Akam and Rezar left.

OMG HUGE SHOCKING UNBELIEVABLE RAW SUPERSTAR RETURNS WTF!!?!?!??!?!?!!!?!

Alicia Fox is back. She was talking to Bayley backstage.

That’s literally it. Sorry.

I know we’re struggling to work out what’s going on with Raw’s main event scene, but come on guys, this is a bit ridiculous

Sorry if some of this doesn’t make sense, but it really isn’t my fault.

Kurt Angle and Baron Corbin were arguing again when Finn Bálor walked in to ask about Brock Lesnar.

Braun Strowman also walked in, asking to be Kevin Owens’ tag team partner. Why? No idea.

Kurt Angle then made the match pitting Owens and Braun against Finn and Corbin.

After they won via countout, Strowman chased Owens backstage and flipped his car.

Didn’t we just have months of this exact segment?

Alexa Bliss came to the ring with Mickie James back with her again for some reason, and she said Ronda Rousey doesn’t know the rules of WWE, and called Nia Jax a bully.

Never heard Bliss say anything like that before.

Anyway, Natalya came out because she’s Rousey’s bezzie, challenged Bliss to a match, and then brought Jax to ringside top be in her corner.

I’ve ran out of jokes to make about this

Jinder Mahal was partaking in a photo shoot which I suppose is fair enough, when the Riott Squad came and smashed the camera.

They’re basically just stroppy teenagers at this point.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS FINALLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYY GET IN THEREEEEE

Following months and months and months and months and months and months and months and months and months and months and months and months and months and months and months and months of going round in circles it seems the “on/off friendship” between Sasha Banks and Bayley has finally hit breaking point.

They must now both attend counselling or be fired.

Hands up everyone who wants Dr. Shelby back!

Mojo dislikes cheeseburgers

It seemed we were set for another repeat match of last week between No Way Jose and Mojo Rawley, but instead Rawley declined the match because he didn’t like that fact there was a bloke dressed as a cheeseburger.

In all seriousness, I am really enjoying heel Rawley and think there’s definitely top champion potential there.

What’s this got to do with you?

Following McIntyre’s assault on Rollins ensuring Ziggler retained the IC Title, Roman Reigns came down to the ring to make the save.

Again – I have no idea.

(Yes, I know they were in the Shield but that was ages ago.)
