Seth Rollins & Jason Jordan vs. The Bar (Cesaro & Sheamus)
Dean Ambrose’s injury really threw a spanner into the works of the stop-start Shield reunion, derailing several months of booking plans and forcing WWE to rewrite a number of angles. That being said, it was a blessing in disguise for the much-maligned Jason Jordan, who was fortuitously thrust into a leading babyface spot alongside Rollins. The odd couple duo captured the Raw tag straps on their first night as a team, and since then have developed an interesting dynamic on television.
Jordan plays an over-confident goof with ideas above his station, trying to do what he feels to be the right thing – which almost always turns out to be the wrong thing – much to the chagrin of ‘the Architect’. His goading of the Bar has led to the former champs dropping matches on Raw to unfancied tandem Titus Worldwide, raising their ire prior to their contractually obligated rematch for the titles at the Rumble.
In recent weeks Jordan’s actions have caused a degree of friction between he and Rollins, with a split already teased on Raw 25 when Rollins accidentally clocked Jordan with a flying knee intended for Cesaro. It seems inevitable that a Rollins vs. Jordan program is coming, though it feels too early for the split, unless WWE wants to get it out of the way before WrestleMania.
Regardless of whether the duo part ways at the Rumble or beyond, it is coming eventually, and I expect them to drop the titles back to the Bar here. Rollins and Jordan are temporary champions, not the intended long-term incumbents, only carrying the belts as props to enhance their eventual feud. Considering how foolish the Bar have been made to look by Jordan in recent weeks, they simply must win to avoid falling into the realms of laughing stocks. I’m predicting the Bar to win it, via accidental Jordan buffoonery.
WINNER PREDICTION: The Bar (Cesaro & Sheamus)
