WWE
With several big shows coming up across WWE and AAA in September, we could soon see some stars undergo some big character shifts.
Seeds have been planted for some of the babyface members of the WWE roster to potentially turn heel, and we could see this play out in the coming weeks.
Here are three WWE stars to potentially turn heel soon.
Damian Priest
The September 11 episode of WWE SmackDown will be heading to Arena CDMX in Mexico City, and one big title match is already official for the show.
After months of back-and-forth, former WWE Tag Team Champions Damian Priest & R-Truth will meet The War Raiders for their AAA World Tag Team Championships.
The most interesting wrinkle of this story going into the match is Damian Priest’s reluctance to even be involved. The former World Heavyweight Champion made clear to R-Truth on the August 28 episode of SmackDown that he was keen to go back out there on his own and pursue singles gold, however, Truth volunteered them to face Erik and Ivar.
While Priest did come around to the idea by the end of this segment, it’s clear his patience with Truth is wearing a little thin and he may snap on his tag team partner in Mexico City.
Tony D’Angelo
At WWE NXT Heatwave, Tony D’Angelo lost the NXT Title to Grayson Waller in a four-way that also featured Cruz Montana and Zilla Fatu.
With D’Angelo being the one to take the pin in that match, fans will be wondering what his future is in WWE. Will he remain on NXT? Or finally get his long-overdue call-up to Raw or SmackDown?
Whatever the case, D’Angelo’s best plan of action may be a character shift of some kind. If he remains a babyface on NXT he risks being outshone in the fans’ eyes by the new stars on the brand such as Zilla and Cruz.
If he moves to Raw or SmackDown, a heel persona may also be the best way to establish himself, as it’s always hit or miss whether babyfaces from NXT connect with the main roster audience.
Tiffany Stratton
In contrast to her NXT run, which she spent as a heel, Tiffany Stratton has been a babyface for the majority of her time on SmackDown thus far.
However, it feels as if her character has hit a bit of a wall in 2026 and only picked up after beginning her alliance with the uber-popular Chelsea Green.
With Stratton losing match after match right now due to Green’s injury, it feels inevitable that the former WWE Women’s Champion turns on her friend and steals her championship from her.
Stratton works best as a heel, and Green’s popularity would give her a perfect launching pad for an excellent run heading into 2027.
