Roman Reigns World Heavyweight Championship challenger for the September 14 episode of WWE Raw in Mexico City has been confirmed.

Over the past few weeks, a tournament got underway across both Raw and AAA, with 8 luchadores competing for the right to wrestle for the World Heavyweight Championship.

The tournament would culminate on the September 14 episode of WWE Raw in Mexico City, where the winner would face Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship.

The tournament saw Penta, Laredo Kid, La Parka, Psycho Clown, Dragon Lee, El Hijo del Dr Wagner Jr, Rey Fenix and El Fiscal face off, with the finals ultimately being a brother vs. brother encounter between Penta and Rey Fenix.

The match was the main event of tonight’s WWE Raw show in Cleveland, with the two brothers putting it all on the line against each other for the right to face Reigns in Mexico City.

In the end, it was Penta who scored the win over Fenix, winning the tournament and officially earning the right to challenge Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship on September 14.

Reigns won’t be the only champion defending their gold on that show, as Chad Gable is set to defend the Intercontinental Championship against Dragon Lee on the show, as well as the debut of Lola Vice being teased for the show.

Roman Reigns’ Next Opponents?

With Reigns set to face Penta in Mexico City, he still has a lot more potential challengers waiting for him after the show.

The first being LA Knight, with a World Heavyweight Championship match between Reigns and Knight likely slated for Money In The Bank in October.

Following Knight, Reigns is likely also set for future encounters with Solo Sikoa and Royce Keys, as both men have been at war with the Bloodline over the past few months, as well as all parties likely featuring in this year’s War Games match at Survivor Series, a show that Reigns is advertised for.

If Reigns holds onto the World Heavyweight Championship the entire time, he would also be in action at WWE Crown Jewel, where he would face off with the Undisputed WWE Champion for the Crown Jewel Championship, which as it stands would be a WrestleMania 42 rematch with CM Punk.
