Kevin Owens Seemingly Injured At WWE House Show

Kevin Owens was seemingly injured at a WWE Live house show on August 30, going on to be helped to the back.

Having returned from a neck injury that required surgery at SummerSlam, Kevin Owens would win the number one contenders match to determine the challenger for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

August 21 would mark Owens challenging CM Punk for the Undisputed WWE Championship, only to lose the match thanks to interference from Sami Zayn.

With Owens now back in the ring, he was in action at the August 30 WWE Live house show in North Charleston, defeating The Miz in singles action.

During the match, it appears that Owens picked up an injury that left the star limping and, later, being helped to the back.

Footage of Owens being helped to the back was shared on Twitter by Kevin Bilodeau, the Sports Director and journalist for Live5News. In the short video clip, Owens can be seen limping out of the ring before a member of the crew comes to his aid to get him backstage, all while Danhausen speaks to the fans.

Further footage was also shared on Twitter that may indicate how the injury occured, with Owens delivering a superkick that appears to land a touch low, throwing the star off balance, leading to the referee checking on Owens.

At the time of writing, neither Owens nor WWE have commented on the injury.

The Return Of Kevin Owens

Seeing Kevin Owens return at SummerSlam on Night 2 was quite the moment, with the fans at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis reminding everyone watching just how loved the WWE star is and has been since signing in August 2014.

His neck injury would see Owens removed from a match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41, with his return being a fast-track affair between being cleared and SummerSlam.

While details are thin on the ground at the time of writing, one can only imagine how Owens is feeling after his recent house show match. Depending on the severity of the injury, there’s a chance that the star could be sidelined once again, derailing any plans that were no doubt in place.

Following his recent return, Owens commented that he wants to “enjoy every second” of his remaining career, however long that may be. The star remains a key component in WWE creative, something that has been apparently over his entire run, and hopefully there’ll be more opportunity in the future.

Ideally, the injury will be something that doesn’t keep Owens out of action for too long.
