With a long and storied history of NXT call-ups to the main roster that haven’t gone so well, a shining example of one that has been as close as can be to perfect is Tatum Paxley.
Immediately finding not only purpose but footing on the main roster, Paxley also benefited from the familiarity of many of the current SmackDown women’s division having roots in NXT.
Arguably creating much better matches since the performers have been through years upon years of training with one another, the latest batch of NXT call-ups have proven that the Performance Center developmental system may be more successful than ever.
Presented strong since the start

Where there have been plenty of examples of intriguing call-ups to the main roster that make an overall impact, Tatum Paxley may truly be the most impressive.
Making her initial debut on WWE SmackDown immediately aligning with top stars Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, Paxley was able to bring her fan favorite spirit to the main roster.
Keeping her slightly odd although quite endearing personality, it is Paxley that continues to work alongside first Flair during Bliss’ injury and later, subbing in for Charlotte Flair after an attack backstage from Jade Cargill on the October 9 edition of SmackDown.
Joining forces with Bliss, it would end up being the duo that were successful in toppling their opponents Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid), Tatum Paxley captured her first main roster title and before the Oba Femi.
NXT Takeover on SmackDown

As an unabashed NXT fan even when things were weird & wacky in the 2.0 era, there’s some serious pride in seeing how far each individual character has come.
Coming into their own under the tutelage of Shawn Michaels, the on-going impact of the WWE Performance Center on the future of the brand is incredibly clear.
Arguably the most compelling parts of WWE SmackDown, the likes of Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid), Lash Legend, Trick Williams, Axiom, Nathan Fraser and even Carmelo Hayes and Tiffany Stratton – a surprising number of NXT call-ups now feature prominently in top TV storylines.
Not only do the way back then NXT faithful remember the full progression of the characters on screen, we feel infinitely more invested in rooting for them.
What’s next for Tatum Paxley?

With a strong alliance with veteran stars as well as built-in rivalries with other SmackDown women’s division trios like Fatal Influence and Jade Cargill and the Baddies (Michin & B-Fab), there could definitely be a growing rivalry if not an entire division.
Able to have the ladies complete in both tag team and singles action, there could be unlimited options to showcase the talented performers of SmackDown – including Paxley.
Certainly able to take her first WWE main roster title victory into a major future as a singles star, Tatum Paxley feels like she has unlimited potential with both impeccable in-ring ability as well as a character that resonates with fans.
