At AEW Double or Nothing, Max Caster namedropped WWE’s Dominik Mysterio in his rap aimed at Buddy Matthews.
Max Caster’s latest rap took a swipe at Buddy Matthews accusing him of “getting cucked by some kid named Dominik.”
This led to both Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio responding on Twitter, with Ripley pointing out that her Dom Dom was over in two companies.
Ripley’s real-life partner Buddy Matthews would also reply to Ripley in a Tweet that would be deleted shortly afterwards.
In Matthews’ reply, he would say:
“Yes, yes you are! Congratulations! They made you more famous during their TV time.”
Matthews deleted the tweet after posting it, though it was captured by fans on social media.
Discussion would revolve around the identity of the “they” in question with it not being clear if Matthews means “they” as in The Acclaimed made Rhea & Dominik more famous or that it was a way of subtly having a dig at AEW management for making WWE stars more famous.
It could, of course, have been Matthews’ way of suggesting that the mention of Ripley & Mysterio had made Max Caster and Anthony Bowens more famous with the coverage that the name drop received.
With the tweet now deleted, we’ll likely never know what was really meant by Matthews.
