Update On Backstage Reaction To AEW Collision AEW

Tony Schiavone has shared the backstage reaction to AEW Collision and also revealed his extended role on the Saturday night show.

AEW Collision had its debut episode on June 17 and has had a rocky road in the ratings, something that attracted the attention of Dax Harwood after comments from Jonathan Coachman.

AEW producer and commentator Tony Schiavone recently spoke about Collision and his role on the show.

Speaking on his What Happened When podcast, Schiavone said:

“I’m telling you, Collision is a good show. It is a great show.

“We got a great announce team of Kevin Kelly and Nigel. I thoroughly enjoy it from top to bottom and I’m glad I’m around for it.”

Schiavone would go on to discuss his role on the show, adding:

“I’m doing both shows and I originally was going to just produce backstage, but there are some live interviews they want me to do, so I do them, but basically I’m just backstage producing.

“We talked about it in a conference call this week that we had about how much we all are enjoying Collision, doing it.”

It was recently revealed that WBD would consider a similar ranking to AEW Dynamite as a success for the Saturday night show.

This would mean that Warner Bros Discovery would consider a top 5 ranking for AEW Collision a success.

The debut episode of AEW Collision had 952,000 viewers, with the following week’s episode dropping to 692,000.

Andrade El Idolo has also responded to criticism of AEW Collision’s viewing figures, noting that the show has had a far shorter life than other on-air products.
