A legendary NJPW name was revealed as the mystery partner for Darby Allin and Sting on tonight’s AEW Collision.
To kick off tonight’s AEW Collision, a promo segment between the main-eventers, CM Punk, FTR and Ricky Starks engaging in a pre-taped war of the words with future opponents Bullet Club Gold and the Gunns.
Meanwhile, when the action kicked off in the arena, Tony Schiavone was in the ring to make an announcement regarding the mystery partner for Sting and Darby Allin at Forbidden Door in their match against Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara and Minoru Suzuki.
As Schiavone was about to introduce Allin and Sting, Jericho and Suzuki (but no Guevara) came out and interrupted him, with Jericho telling the crowd not to pander to him, he’s not from Toronto, “I’m from Winnipeg, you idiots,” confirming he and Minoru Suzuki were in a bad mood.
After having waited for “days and days” to find out who Sting and Darby Allin’s partner are at Forbidden Door, they had enough!
Before showing off a bestie handshake with Minoru Suzuki, Jericho said that Sammy Guevara wasn’t with them because he was miffed about his relationship with the aforementioned Murder Grandpa.
However after Darby Allin and Sting came to the ring as Jericho threatened to squeeze the answer out of Schiavone, Allin surmised that Guevara’s absence was due to another reason.
Perhaps Sammy had come to his senses regarding his alliance with the dastardly Jericho, however if he did show up at Forbidden Door, Allin had his number.
Next, the mystery partner was revealed as the someone who had beaten Jericho at the Tokyo Dome: Tetsuya Naito!
Coming the the ring to face a shocked Jericho (and a lightly bemused Suzuki), the NJPW legend stood face to face with the Ocho as the crowd chanted his name.
