AEW Star Confirms They Had Talks With WWE AEW/WWE

An AEW star who recently returned to the company has confirmed that they had talks with WWE prior to their return.

QT Marshall officially became a free agent on January 1, when he announced his resignation from his roles within All Elite Wrestling.

However, Marshall was not a free agent for very long, as he recently returned to AEW following his departure, returning to his role as a vice president, but not as an in-ring talent.

Following his departure, fans speculated that Marshall could potentially end up joining WWE as a coach or producer, due to his friendship with Cody Rhodes.

Speaking to Bill Apter of SportsKeeda, Marshall confirmed that he did speak to WWE during his free agency, but he didn’t want to join the company to be a producer.

He said:

“Tony and I have spoken numerous times about this. I’m not going to WWE just to be a producer. I can do that at AEW, where I can work one day a week, and I’m number whatever in the company, in the top ten, where as, I go to WWE, I start at the bottom, I make less money, I’m on the road more. The only perk is that I get to be with my friend Cody [Rhodes] and just to say that I work for WWE, which has been my dream since was eight years old, but it’s not my dream to be a producer for WWE.

“I did speak to them, and we don’t know what could happen. Ideally, I’m back to AEW under an employee role.”

Marshall serves as the Vice President of Creative Coordination in AEW.

Another close friend of Cody Rhodes’, former AEW star Shawn Spears, made his return to WWE on this week’s episode of NXT.
