Dave Bautista (Batista) has named a WWE star who he thinks has unlimited potential in acting, noting that he’d love to work with the former champion.
While the likes of John Cena and The Rock have become big Hollywood stars, Batista arguably has the most diverse filmography of all wrestlers-turned-actors.
With Batista wanting to be recognised for his acting ability, the Animal has now named a WWE star who he believes was overlooked as an actor.
Speaking with Buzzfeed Celeb, Batista noted that he believes CM Punk would have unlimited potential in acting if he was willing to step away from pro-wrestling.
Hoping to work with Punk one day, Batista said:
“You know who I think was really overlooked as an actor? I don’t know if he hasn’t pursued it as much as he’d like to because he’s still heavily pursuing professional wrestling but it’s CM Punk, Phil Brooks. His potential in acting is pretty unlimited.
“So I really wanna see more from him in acting and I’d actually love to work with him because I think he has a passion for acting but I think, still, his heart is in professional wrestling.
“Until he’s able to let that go a little bit, he’ll never be able to fully envelope himself in acting and I think Phil Brooks, he’s a great actor.”
Punk is no stranger to the world of acting, with the WWE star previously starring in the likes of Heels and Mayans MC. He signed with Paradigm Talent Agency earlier this year, with it reported that he had an eye towards “expanding his presence in entertainment.”
Batista’s next movie, The Killer’s Game, will feature former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre.
Batista has explained how he helped to get McIntyre this role, which you can read more about right here.
