Former WWE Champion and New Day member Big E has provided an update on his recovery ahead of the 2024 Royal Rumble.
On Saturday, January 27, WWE will host the Royal Rumble event from Tampa, Florida. With the event looming, many fans have been speculating about who will make a surprise appearance in the titular matches.
One injured star who hasn’t been mentioned too much among fans for a Rumble return is Big E. The former WWE Champion has been out of action since March 2022 with a serious neck injury.
TMZ Sports caught up with Big E over the weekend and asked about the status of his recovery from neck surgery. When asked, he said:
“It’s all together, the bones connect to the other bones.”
When asked about having any fear in getting back in the ring following the injury, Big E replied:
“I just want to make a smart decision, you know. I didn’t start wrestling to end up in a wheelchair, so yeah I want to make sure I’m making the best decision for myself.”
On having any timetable for his return, the former WWE Champion answered:
“I don’t have a timeline unfortunately, but thank you for asking.”

Big E’s New Day brethren, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are currently embroiled in a rivalry with Imperium on WWE Raw.
