Find out which WWE star Booker T believes is “one big win away from being the guy” and when that win could come!
With NXT’s premium live event, NXT Great American Bash coming up on Sunday, July 30, Booker T seems to believe one star is on the cusp of launching into a new level of stardom.
On his ‘Hall of Fame’ podcast, Booker T touted the challenger to the NXT Championship at the premium live event, Ilja Dragunov, as someone in NXT with a bright future.
Booker T said:
“You know, I’m really excited about that one because I’ve been saying, Dragunov is like one big win away from being the guy. I’m gonna tell you right now, don’t nobody work harder than Ilja ‘The Mad Dragon’ Dragunov. That dude is a hard worker. He’s a hell of a talent. I see him moving to the next level relatively quickly. Dragunov is a special talent.”
Ilja Dragunov is set to face off against Carmelo Hayes for the NXT Championship at NXT Great American Bash on Sunday, July 30 in only one of numerous big title matches.
Also set for the premium live event, a triple threat match for the NXT North American Championship between Wes Lee and Mustafa Ali and the current champ, the Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio.
Elsewhere in NXT news, Shawn Michaels addressed the possibility of Carmelo Hayes moving up to the main roster during the media call for the Great American Bash.
