CM Punk’s CFFC Co-Host Mocks Tony Khan ‘Fearing For His Life’? AEW

CM Punk has returned to the public eye a couple of weeks after being fired “with cause” by All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

In a statement that aired on AEW Collision the day Punk was fired (September 2), AEW CEO Tony Khan said that the incident involving Punk backstage at AEW All In made Khan feel his “life was in danger”.

There have already been a couple of notable quotes we’ve covered from Punk’s return to CFFC commentary this past weekend, but another is now doing the rounds as well.

In an exchange between Punk and his co-commentator, in describing the potential nerves of a fighter in the arena, the latter said: “The bright lights, the big production, I mean, they see CM Punk in the house, they all get nervous, you know what I mean?”.

Punk then replied: “Well they might, I don’t know. For different reasons. Depending on what you’re reading, I don’t know.”

Among some laughter, his co-commentator added: “Some of them fear for their lives, I heard”.

This wasn’t the only reference to Punk’s AEW firing, as John Morgan had also said at the top of the show that Punk was returning to CFFC “with cause”, and joked that “we probably have some things to talk about”.

Punk also notably made headlines by saying he has “some time on his hands for the next two months”, but it’s unclear exactly what that actually means.

According to a recent report from Haus of Wrestling, there isn’t necessarily a buzz within WWE about Punk becoming a free agent like there was with Cody Rhodes in early 2022.

However, nobody has ruled out the possibility of Punk joining WWE yet, so we’ll keep you posted with any developments.
