Following his recent return, CM Punk has addressed fans chanting his name at WWE events during his absence.
CM Punk made his long-awaited WWE return at last month’s Survivor Series premium live event. This marked Punk’s first WWE PLE appearance since Royal Rumble 2014.
While Punk hasn’t wrestled for WWE in almost ten years, fans have still kept Punk around in spirit, with fans occasionally chanting for Punk while he wasn’t with the company.
During an appearance on Instagram Live for Elite Comics and Kulture City, Punk noted that he intends to go on this return-journey with his fans.
Punk stated:
“This isn’t about me, this is about us. This about everybody that is behind me. That for ten years didn’t forget, chanted my name.
“I’m going to put the boots back on for all of y’all. We’re going to go on this journey together.”
Punk is set to return to the ring to wrestle Dominik Mysterio at WWE’s Madison Square Garden house show on December 26, ahead of their rematch at a California house show on December 30.
An update has emerged on a CM Punk non-WWE role, which you can read more about right here.
