CM Punk Fully Supports WWE Fans Chanting His Name

It’s been nearly five years since CM Punk walked out on WWE, and yet his spirit lingers on through every WWE crowd.

Whenever a segment or a match is boring, which unfortunately happens quite often in WWE, the crowd reverts to chanting the name of their unforgotten hero.

“CM Punk! CM Punk! CM Punk!”

Hilarious. Just hilarious.

But what does the man himself think of the chants? Well, in an interview with the Associated Press, Punk revealed he’s perfectly happy for the chants to continue.

“You stop it and five years later people still talk about you? Fans still chant your name? That’s powerful to me.”

He was asked whether at any point he had regretted his move from pro-wrestling to the world of UFC.

“I was presented with an opportunity that, if I was talking to you today and didn’t do, I’d regret. I absolutely do not regret my decision one bit.”

He was of course also asked whether he had given any thought to a wrestling return, to which he simply replied:

“I don’t pay attention. People seem to get upset when I say that.”

I’m not upset. I’m just disappointed.

Punk recently agreed to become a commentator for MMA promotion CFFC, which would seem to rule out any kind of return to the ring or the octagon in the near future.
