An upcoming WWE World Heavyweight Championship defense for titleholder CM Punk has officially been announced.
At WWE Survivor Series this past Saturday, Bron Breakker won the men’s WarGames match for his team by pinning Punk in the main event.
Tonight on Raw, Breakker and Paul Heyman met with General Manager Adam Pearce looking for a World Title shot for Breakker against Punk.
Later in the show, Heyman, Breakker, Bronson Reed and Logan Paul all headed to the ring collectively as The Vision.
Heyman first gave a shoutout to Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre who joined Breakker, Reed and Paul for WarGames, and then broke some news.
He announced that on the January 5, 2026 episode of WWE Raw – the first of the year and the one-year anniversary of the show being on Netflix – Breakker will challenge Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship.
This will be Punk’s first defense of the title after he won it against Jey Uso at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1.
That match took place after former champion Seth Rollins suffered an injury and had to vacate the championship.
