Cody Rhodes has predicted that AEW World Champion MJF will eventually find his way into the WWE while praising his professionalism.
Previously, MJF had referenced the “booking war of 2024” with his AEW contract due to expire next year.
More recently, it was reported that there was a belief in WWE that MJF had ‘quietly’ re-signed with AEW.
Although neither MJF or AEW have confirmed the status of the contract, it’s believed it would take him to 2027.
During an interview on Rosenberg Wrestling, Cody Rhodes addressed MJF joining WWE while praising the star, saying:
“I think one day you will see MJF in WWE. I think, one thing I’m really proud of him for is, for those who don’t know, MJF was one of my recruits. Probably the one I’m the most excited about just because [of] his potential, his personality; his overall professionalism is beaming.
“One thing I’m proud of him doing is, if you notice he’s put on a lot of muscle and he’s put it on safely over the last year and a half.
“And when he does make that jump, and I don’t know when that is, if he makes the jump. But if he comes to WWE he’ll have to stand across from guys like Drew McIntyre, you have to stand across from guys like Omos. Or, gosh, Brock Lesnar.”
The AEW World Champion has recently revealed that he tore his labrum in his shoulder, with Tony Khan recently being asked about the status of the ROH Tag Team Championships, given that MJF and Adam Cole are both injured.
MJF will defend the AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe on Saturday, December 30 at AEW Worlds End.
