Details on WWE’s thought process on pulling Roman Reigns from the upcoming Money In The Bank event has been revealed.
As previously noted, Sports Illustrated recently reported that WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns is no longer scheduled for the upcoming Money In The Bank event in Las Vegas on July 2.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), WWE reps said that Reigns missing the event was always a possibility after his new contract included a reduced schedule because the company feels the Money In The Bank ladder matches themselves can sell the show.
The reps also originally told the outlet that Roman’s live event schedule would be scaled back, but he would remain on TV and wasn’t slated to miss any time. Obviously, this has now changed.
Money In The Bank would mark the second straight premium live event that the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion would miss.
Reigns is expected to make his first defense of the titles on a major show at SummerSlam on July 30 from Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
We will have further updates on Roman Reigns and his schedule when they become available.
