Dolph Ziggler (Nic Nemeth) Comments After Capturing First Title Following WWE Departure NJPW

Dolph Ziggler (Nic Nemeth) has commented after capturing his first championship following his WWE departure.

Dolph Ziggler was released from his WWE contract after almost 20 years with the company back in September 2023, with his non-compete clause expiring back on December 30.

Since then, Ziggler, under his real name Nic Nemeth, has made appearances for both TNA Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling, with him making his NJPW debut this week against David Finlay.

Nemeth and Finlay set up their match back at Wrestle Kingdom on January 4, with Nemeth challenging Finlay for this IWGP Global Championship at New Beginning in Saporro.

Nemeth scored the victory over Finlay, making him the second-ever IWGP Global Champion and earning him his first championship following his WWE departure.

Taking to Twitter, Nemeth reacted to capturing his first title following his WWE departure, translated from Japanese:

New Japan Pro Wrestling, this is just the beginning! Alright, let’s go!

THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING! #LFG @nato_dfk

Nemeth has been announced for an appearance at the upcoming NJPW Windy City Riot event in Chicago.

Nemeth isn’t the only WWE star released in September who has since captured a title in NJPW, as Matt Riddle defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to capture the NJPW World Television Championship at New Beginning in Saporro.
