A former WWE Champion says Carmelo Hayes is a star.
At NXT Heatwave 2023, Carmelo Hayes defeated Wes Lee to retain the NXT Championship in the main event.
This was the latest showstealing performance from Hayes who has become the face of WWE’s developmental brand since winning the top prize at NXT Stand & Deliver in April.
On August 24, WWE shared a clip of former WWE Champion Big E and Melo doing a photo shoot together.
Retweeting the post, Big E took to social media to praise Carmelo Hayes and predicted big things for his future. He wrote:
Melo is a STAR. Couldn’t be a bigger fan of @Carmelo_WWE as a talent & professional. Looking forward to the main roster main events & world titles.
Big E has sidelined since March 2022 with a serious neck injury. He recently said in an interview that doctors have advised him not to wrestle again.
