Former WWE Tag Team Champion Doug Basham has announced his retirement from in-ring action following his final match over the weekend.
At the 2023 Great Lakes Championship Wrestling Blizzad Brawl event in Waukesha, Wisconsin, former WWE and OVW star Doug Basham lost a bout to Kal Herro.
Following the match, Basham announced his retirement from his in-ring wrestling career.
Trained by Danny Davis, Basham played a major part of the glory days of Ohio Valley Wrestling where he feuded with The Damaja before the two became The Basham Brothers on the WWE main roster.
The Basham Brothers captured the WWE Tag Team Championships on two occasions. After their run in WWE ended, the duo made appearances in TNA.
Per PWInsider, Doug Basham specifically wanted to put over Herro and give him the accolade of being the person to retire him.
Basham currently works as a trainer and coach for OVW alongside Al Snow. He was featured on “The Wrestlers” show on Netflix.
WrestleTalk would like to congratulate Doug Basham on a successful in-ring career.
