Heat On Top WWE Star, Stone Cold Steve Austin Return, Roman Reigns Championship Plans – News Bulletin – November 7, 2022 WWE

There’s been heat on top WWE star, news of Stone Cold Steve Austin’s return, and Roman Reigns championship plans have been laid out.

It’s Monday morning, the Monday after WWE Crown Jewel and what better way to start the week than getting caught up on all the latest wrestling news with our news bulletin for November 7, 2022.

Heat On WWE’s Braun Strowman

At WWE Crown Jewel, Omos vs Braun Strowman was an “exhibition match”, complete with weigh-in.

It wasn’t the most thrilling match on the Crown Jewel card but it was certainly a match that happened.

Braun Strowman was s0 proud of his match that he took to Twitter to take a sly dig at Dave Meltzer’s star rating system, declaring that their match had “47 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and reminded the people that no one cares about all these floppy floppers.”

Meltzer wasn’t the only target of the former Control Your Narrative creator, with Kenny Omega seemingly next in the firing line after a fan said that the Crown Jewel match was better than anything Omega or AEW have ever done, and Strowman agreed.

No doubt expected that nobody would say anything about his fiery Tweets, it should really come as no surprise that many people on Twitter felt the need to stand up to the big man.

High-flyer Mustafa Ali seemingly didn’t take Strowman’s comments well, and referenced the fact that Strowman had previously been released by WWE, replying: “can you teach me how to get fired?”

Not content with staying silent, Strowman clapped back by asking AliDon’t you work in catering now????”, to which Ali then responded, “was definitely in the kitchen cooking you”.

Elsewhere in the wrestling world, IWGP United States Champion Will Ospreay weighed with a very reasonable perspective, pointing out that “It’s dead funny that you actually done such a great job and yet you’re mad at other people that do the same job as you.”

Ricochet returns to NXT

Ricochet was another colleague of Strowman’s who got involved in responding to his tweet

Naturally, with such a ytweet as this, there was a lot of interaction from wrestlers and fans right across the spectrum of the business, all hoping to be heard by Braun Strowman above all the noise of each other’s anger.

Strowman would say, however, that he has “mad respect” for everyone in the WWE locker room and told others to “Take a joke iwc. Y’all come at me none stop and the second I fire back y’all melt.

Stone Cold Steve Austin WWE Return?

Stone Cold Austin made his in-ring return – his first official match since 2003 – on the first night of WrestleMania 38 in April 2022 for a No Holds Barred match against Kevin Owens, which Austin won.

Austin then appeared on the second night of WrestleMania 38, giving Stone Cold Stunners to Austin Theory, Pat McAfee and Vince McMahon.

Following the reception and performance on both nights, WrestleVotes have told GiveMeSport:

So I know he was thrilled post-WrestleMania. And I’d say he was open to doing it again.”

There’s no official confirmation that Austin is planning to wrestle again, but it does appear that WWE is open to the idea and that Stone Cold would “definitely listen to any proposal for this year’s Mania.”

Roman Reigns Championship Plans

Following his praiseworthy match at WWE Crown Jewel against Logan Paul, in which Roman Reigns retained the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, speculation has mounted as to who will be the person to dethrone the Champion.

WrestleVotes spoke to Louis Dangoor of GiveMeSport about the situation saying They have an idea of who is going to beat Roman”.

Roman Reigns survived the challenge of Logan Paul at Crown Jewel

This is significant news considering there were reports that Vince McMahon had not even thought about who could potentially beat Reigns, never mind when.

It doesn’t, however, look like this will be something “happening anytime soon” according to WrestleVotes, and there’s no clear indication of exactly who it’ll be either.

Other Stuff

Bandido has officially signed with AEW, according to Dave Meltzer, after taking time to consider offers from both WWE and AEW.

Fightful Select (subscription required) reports that The Kingdom (Maria Kanellis, Mike Bennett and Matt Taven) had talks with WWE, specifically Gabe Sapolsky and Paul Levesque (Triple H), before signing with AEW.

Nick Khan’s new contract into August 2025 is certainly a lucrative one, financially, with Dave Meltzer revealing that the WWE co-CEO has a base salary of $1,350,000, before his annual target bonus and stock grants.

Following Brock Lesnar’s win over Bobby Lashley at WWE Crown Jewel, it looks like we could be seeing a rematch, with the pair currently standing at one victory apiece. Meltzer reported the rematch was planned for Day 1 before the event was canceled.

Having made his WWE debut, complete with entrance video, at WWE Crown Jewel, there are no current firm plans for Jake Paul in WWE though PWInsider reported a there is a lot of interest from both sides to work together in the future.

Following recent reports WWE was interested in signing Chelsea Green, Green told Fightful Select that the company hasn’t contacted her about a return and she still has dates set into March 2023.

Sasha Banks was recently training with Juventud Guerrera and Samuray Del Sol (formerly WWE’s Kalisto) in Mexico, no doubt sparking even more rumours that a return to WWE is imminent.

Tonight’s WWE Raw – the first Raw after Crown Jewel – is no doubt going to be a special one; so special, in fact, that nothing has been revealed for what we should expect at the time of writing this bulletin.
