A new report has revealed an update on NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov’s plans after NXT Stand & Deliver 2024 during WrestleMania weekend.
At NXT Stand & Deliver 2024, Ilja Dragunov will defend the NXT Championship against Tony D’Angelo.
Many fans and critics have questioned when Dragunov will make the jump to the WWE main roster after spending five years in the promotion.
Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update, noting that Ilja Dragunov is not planned for a callup to the main roster at this time.
However, Dragunov is expected to make his way to either Raw or SmackDown upon losing the NXT Championship with some within NXT believing he is beyond the brand at this stage of his career.
Despite some fans questioning if Dragunov was willing to make the move to the main roster and cited his trips home as a reason why, WWE is more than happy to accommodate his schedule moving forward.
