Injured AEW Star Officially Cleared For In-Ring Return

An AEW star who has been out of action with an injury for over a year has been cleared for an in-ring return.

AEW star Santana has been out of action for over a year, suffering a torn ACL during last year’s Blood & Guts match, where he, Ortiz, Eddie Kingston and the Blackpool Combat Club defeated the Jericho Appreciation Society.

In recent weeks, Santana has been sharing vignettes on social media, teasing his upcoming return from injury, and we may not have to wait too much longer.

Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Santana has been cleared to return to the ring.

Questions still remain about Santana’s status, as he and partner Ortiz had reportedly had issues and were not on good terms prior to Santana’s injury.

Fightful was told that as of him being cleared, they are still not on good terms, but that had been the case for quite a while before his injury, so it would not be impossible that the two would work together following his return.

Fightful also reported that there is traction that Ortiz could potentially be set for a role at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium.
