An international star is set for a crossover appearance on the Japanese broadcast of this week’s WWE SmackDown (December 6).
On January 1, 2025 WWE United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura will make his return to his native Japan when he competes at Pro Wrestling NOAH’s ‘NOAH The New Year’ event, facing off against Ulka Sasaki at Budokan Hall.
Ahead of the anticipated crossover match, NOAH announced via Twitter that Sasaki will be making an appearance on ABEMA’s broadcast of this week’s SmackDown, which airs on the ABEMA Fighting Channel the following evening (December 7).
NOAH’s tweet doesn’t specify what Sasaki will be doing on the broadcast, but one must imagine he will have a close eye on Nakamura.
Nakamura’s last appearance in Japan came in January 2023 at the same event he’s set to compete at in under a month’s time, only that time he faced off with The Great Muta in what was one of the WWE Hall of Famer’s final matches of his legendary career.
It was recently reported that Nakamura’s United States Championship win over LA Knight at Survivor Series was pushed in a big way in Pro Wrestling NOAH due to Nakamura’s upcoming return to the promotion – for full details follow this link here.
