John Cena was recently asked about the possibility of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson featuring in season two of the DC Peacemaker series.

The HBO Max original series quickly gained popularity following its premiere in January. Before the season 1 finale had even aired, James Gunn confirmed that the Suicide Squad spinoff will return for another season.

DC fans have a number of exciting projects to look forward to this year, including Black Adam, which is set to star Dwayne Johnson in the titular role.

Cena and Johnson had a high-profile rivalry in WWE, notably facing off in their ‘Once in a Lifetime’ bout at WrestleMania 28… and having a rematch at WrestleMania 29.

Speaking with People magazine, Cena stated that he’d be honored to work with Johnson, but doesn’t make any creative decisions for DC.

Cena noted:

“I’ll say the same thing every time with possibilities in the sort of universe… it would be an honor and a privilege to be able to perform with him. I think there still is a passionate marketplace that wants to see him in. But I’m sorry, man, that’s just not my choice so I don’t know. It’s so far beyond me. It’s beyond what I’m able to control.”

The 16-time World Champion last wrestled at SummerSlam 2021, unsuccessfully challenging for Roman Reigns’ Universal Title. Reigns is set to wrestle WWE Champion Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 in a title unification match.
