Lyra Valkyria Discusses WWE Championship Plans

Lyra Valkyria has reacted to a recent WWE title change, noting that she is now targeting the current champion.

With Lyra having defeated Bayley at the July 18 Saturday Night’s Main Event special, the Raw star is now focused on regaining what was once hers.

Speaking on TMZ Inside The Ring, Valkyria noted that her next goal is to win back the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

When asked if there’s anyone in particular who should watch their back, Valkyria said:

“Raquel. Raquel Rodriguez. She has the title that I created.”

Raquel Rodriguez won the gold from Sol Ruca on the July 27 Raw episode.

Commenting on Sol Ruca’s title loss, Valkyria said:

“I knew she was going to lose it because I remember being that way, ‘everything’s great, she has never done a thing wrong, ever.’ I remember that happiness when nothing ever goes wrong in your life.

“She should be careful because a loss like that, I was able to handle it because I’m so mentally sound, but I don’t think she can handle it. You look at her and you’re just like ‘Wow, what a cute little fairy.’

“She has not got the grit, the toughness, the mental stability that I have. Everyone should check in on Sol Ruca, I’d like to see what happens to her going forward.”

Lyra Valkyria was the inaugural Women’s Intercontinental Champion, winning a tournament for the gold in January 2025, and holding it until Money in the Bank that June, when Becky Lynch became champion.

With there being a lot of uncertainty surrounding Bayley’s future, it will be interesting to see whether their Saturday Night’s Main Event match ends up being the first in a series, or if it will mark the end of a chapter for the Role Model.
