A new WWE main roster star has officially been called up from NXT during tonight’s August 7 episode of SmackDown.

Main eventing tonight’s SmackDown was a grudge match between Charlotte Flair and Jade Cargill, with Cargill bringing Michin and B-Fab along in her corner.

With Michin and B-Fab trying to get involved, Flair’s tag team partner Alexa Bliss made her entrance to provide some backup.

However, rather than getting physically involved herself, Bliss posed on the ramp as the lights went out before coming back on to reveal former NXT Women’s Champion Tatum Paxley perched on the top turnbuckle as she dove off to take out both Michin and B-Fab.

After all of that distraction, Flair capitalized to score the win against Cargill, before closing the show standing tall in the ring alongside Bliss and Paxley.

There is a little bit of backstory with Paxley and the duo of Flair and Bliss, as Paxley has long cited Bliss as one of her inspirations.

The trio also worked together at NXT Homecoming last year, where Paxley teamed up with Izzi Dame against Flair and Bliss in a tag team match.

Promising Signs That WWE Has Plans For Tatum Paxley

Tatum Paxley is no doubt deserving of a WWE main roster call-up, but the move has been called into question because of the track record for women on SmackDown in particular.

Jordynne Grace was featured initially but suffered an injury, and since that injury has not been back on TV. The injury played a part in stopping her momentum but there’s no reason WWE shouldn’t have figured out a way to bring her back by now.

Despite having two reigns with the Women’s United States Championship, Giulia has never felt like someone being presented as an actual star, which has never been more evident than last week when she lost to Lash Legend in two minutes.

Blake Monroe was called up to SmackDown months ago now and has had absolutely zero direction other than a hometown appearance in London.

With Tatum Paxley’s arrival tonight, at least WWE has immediately inserted her into an alliance and a situation and seems to have some immediate plans for what to do with her.

However, if this isn’t supposed to be a long-term trio, hopefully if she ends up breaking away, WWE has plans for Paxley on her own and she doesn’t get lost in the shuffle and off television like the names previously mentioned.
